Cross Country Competes in Inter-Regional

OBERLIN, Ohio – The Capital University men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Inter-Regional Rumble, hosted by Oberlin College, on Saturday.

Capital's men competed individually in the 8k race, as a total of three Crusaders ran in the race out of 283 total runners.

Leading the way for the Crusaders was freshman Andrew Stroh, finishing with a team-best time of 27:23.5, while placing 125th.

Following Stroh was senior Mitch Stith, who finished with a time of 28:42.6, while freshman Tyler Maciag finished close behind with a time of 28:50.8.

Senior Erik Morris rounded out the pack, checking in with a time of 30:23.4.

On the women's side, the Crusaders captured a 25th place finish out of 34 total teams in the 6k race.

Pacing the Crusaders was junior Jessi Knoll, finishing with a team-best time of 22:55.9, good for a 49th place finish out of 284 total runners.

A pair of freshman, Alexandra Corrigan and Gretchen Sauder followed with times of 24:06.0 25:29.9, respecitively.

Senior Samantha Watts finished with a time of 26:38.1, while freshman Rachel Rus rounded out the Crusaders pack, checking in with a time 27:44.6.

Next meet for both Capitals' men's and women's squads are on Nov. 2, as they compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship hosted by Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio.
