Jeff Jakmides, originally from Alliance, Ohio, is in his first season as a volunteer assistant track & field coach at Capital University.
Jakmides competed at Ashland University as a decathlete. He focused primarily on the throwing events and was part of four GLIAC Championship teams while receiving all-conference honors.
Jakmides received a bachelor’s in exercise science from Ashland with a strong emphasis on strength and conditioning. He interned with Ashland’s strength and conditioning coach, A.G. Kruger, a three-time Olympian in the hammer throw. Jakmides also interned under Thomas Myslinksi, the current Jacksonville Jaguars head strength & conditioning coach, and worked at the University of North Carolina in 2011.
Jakmides is currently enrolled at Bradford School in Columbus to pursue a career as a physical therapy assistant.
