OAC Coaches Tab Men’s Track & Field to Finish Eighth in Outdoor Season

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Ohio Athletic Conference's men's track & field coaches released the results of their annual preseason poll on Friday morning with Capital University Men's Track & Field picked to finish eighth. The Crusaders garnered 25 total points.

At the OAC Indoor Championships in February, Capital finished seventh.

The University of Mount Union earned 79 total points and seven of the 10 first-place votes to top the poll. Otterbein University placed second with 74 points and two first-place votes and John Carroll University picked up the remaining first-place vote while placing third with 66 points.

Ohio Northern University's 57 points slotted the Polar Bears in fourth. Heidelberg University came in fifth with 46 points and Baldwin Wallace University finished two points behind Heidelberg with 44 points in sixth.

In seventh is Marietta College with 34 points just ahead of the Crusaders. Wilmington College and Muskingum University round out the poll with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Sophomore thrower Josh Miller (Botkins, Ohio/Botkins) came in second at the OAC Indoor Championships and was a national qualifier in the shot put and senior John Seman (Ashland, Ohio/Hillsdale) placed third at the OAC Championships in the high jump. That pair will again be relied upon to score points for the Crusaders.

Capital's outdoor season will commence on Friday, March 22 at the Pioneer Invitational hosted by Transylvania University (Ky.). The two-day meet will conclude on Saturday, March 23.
