Miller Wins the Shot Put Again, His Second of the Season

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore thrower Josh Miller won the shot put for the second time this season while recording his fourth top-five finish in the event in four tries. After achieving a mark of 14.90 meters on his first attempt, Miller then recorded throws of 15.29 meters and 15.14 meters before reaching 15.88 meters on his fifth throw.

Jumper John Seman earned Capital's second-highest finish of the day with a second-place mark of 1.80 meters in the high jump. Pole vaulter Joseph Eskra placed third in the vault by clearing 4.10 meters.

Senior Nathan Hutchins earned a top-five finish for the Crusaders in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:59.32 meters. Senior Andrew Rus finished ninth in the event and stopped the clock at 10:54.66. Noah Davis' time of 5:12.11 in the one mile run earned him seventh.

In the 800-meter run, Grant Ward and Jonas Pyle placed fifth and sixth with runs of 2:03.52 and 2:06.33, respectively.

Sprinter Cole Williams finished seventh in both the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash with times of 7.54 seconds 24.27 seconds.

The Crusaders have now done all they can before the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Championships next Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22-23. The championships will be hosted by Ohio Northern University.
