COLUMBUS, Ohio – Day one of the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships came to a close on Friday night. Capital put together two point-scoring performances after the first session and is currently in eighth place.
Logan Allison (Gallipolis, Ohio/Gallia Academy) had a day in the jump pit, earning the fourth all-conference honor of his career in the long jump. For the second time in his career, the senior placed second in the event. This time he logged a leap of 7.06 meters (23-2), which captured eight points for the Crusaders.
Senior Colby Owen (Perryville, Md./Perryvile) also scored points for Capital with a seventh-place weight throw toss. His best throw measured in at 15.72 meters (51-7) and notched two points for CU.
After day one of the competition, Capital resides in eighth place out of 10 teams with 10 points. They sit 1.50 points in front of Marietta College and one point off the mark of seventh-place Wilmington College.
Action will resume at The Capital Center on Saturday morning with field events commencing at 10 a.m. The first events will be the men's triple jump, women's shot put and women's high jump. Running events will begin at 2 p.m.
