COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University will have two representatives competing at the 2017 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. Juniors Logan Allison and Hunter Mouser will represent the Purple and White this weekend at North Central College (Naperville, Ill.), host of this year's national championships.

Logan Allison (Gallipolis, Ohio/Gallia Academy) qualified to compete in the men's triple jump after posting a season, personal and program best leap of 14.44 meters (47-4 ½) at the Rick Meindl Last Call Invite on Feb. 18, 2017. He has seen marks increase from 13.99 meters in his first meet of the indoor season to his current mark, over the course of the season. Allison is currently tied for No. 13 in the country at that mark in the triple jump. In addition, his 14.44-meter leap now serves as the Capital school record, previously held by Josh Woods '11 (14.33m). After winning the 2017 OAC triple jump championship, he is now a two-time conference champion in that event.

This will be Allison's first trip to the national championships after just missing out on last year's indoor and outdoor national meets. Allison will compete in the triple jump on Saturday, March 11 with preliminaries and finals beginning at 1 p.m.

Hunter Mouser (London, Ohio/London) rocketed up the Capital and national leaderboards in the women's 400-meter dash, and did so at the same meet as Allison. The sophomore qualified with the run of her career, to date, crossing the finish line in 57.07 seconds at this year's Rick Meindl Last Call Invitational. That mark set a new school record, set by Kwesi Seabrook (57.86) in 2011. At that time, she propelled into the top-10, nationally, and will enter the National Championships this weekend ranked No. 11 in the country.

This also marks Mouser's first appearance at NCAA Nationals. The 400 meter prelims are set for Friday, March 10, at 2 p.m. The 400-meter finals are scheduled for the next day at 2:05 p.m.
