Allison Takes Second, Crusaders Seventh After Day One of Indoor Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University Men's Track and Field finished day one of the 2015 Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships in seventh place out of nine teams. Logan Allison and Travon Bodrick scored the team's points in one event to earn the team's top honors heading into the final day of the competition.

Freshman Logan Allison (Gallipolis, Ohio) and senior Travon Bodrick (New Albany, Ohio) each had top-5 placements in the men's long jump to tally a combined 13 points. Allison took second place overall with a 6.87-meter leap. Bodrick topped out at 6.62 meters for fourth place.

Bodrick also ran a qualifying time of 7.10 seconds in the men's 60-meter dash to rank fifth heading into tomorrow's finals heat.

The University of Mount Union has a vast lead over the rest of the competition, scoring a total of 53 points on day one. The next nearest opponent is John Carroll University with 29 points. Ohio Northern University and Otterbein University are tied at 23 points each. Capital has a total of 13 and has a one-point lead over Wilmington College.

Saturday will begin with the triple jump, shot put and high jump events with a start time of 10 a.m. The first running events will begin at 2 p.m. inside the Capital Center.
