Crusaders Wrap Up Day Hosting Capital Classic-Rick Meindl Invitational
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Despite the wintry conditions outside, Capital University Track and Field hosted its annual Capital Classic-Rick Meindl Invitational on Saturday afternoon.


Capital's Logan Allison (Gallipolis, Ohio) posted another win in the men's long jump, posting a 6.78-meter leap for top honors. He also placed ninth in the 60-meter dash (7.20).

In other field events, Luke Wills (Westerville, Ohio/Olentangy) posted an OAC qualifying performance in the triple jump while placing second, overall. He recorded a best leap of 12.11 meters.

Moises Vasquez (Westerville, Ohio) shattered his previous personal best in the weight throw while picking up a podium finish. The freshman recorded a new personal record and a third-place finish with a toss of 14.01 meters. That mark is nearly one full meter better than his previous best of 13.08 meters.

Freshman Myron Goldsmith (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis Desales) also earned a third-place finish in the shot put (13.94m).

On the track, Travon Bodrick (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) clipped his personal best by 0.01 seconds and finished second overall in the 60-meter dash. He crossed the finish line in 7.05 seconds.

Mason Trezise (Eagar, Ariz.) ensured his spot in the OAC Indoor Championship with a new personal best in the 500 meters, finishing third and posting a finish time of 1:09.70.

Capital placed fifth out of eight competing teams with 71 points. Heidelberg accumulated the most team points (152) while Otterbein took second (89).

Next week marks the 2015 OAC Indoor Track and Field Championship, which Capital will host at the Cap Center Fieldhouse. For complete information regarding the championship, visit the official homepage on the Capital website.
