AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – As the success of his freshman season continues to escalate, freshman Graeme Green of the Capital University men's tennis team is receiving the first award for his tremendous success. On Monday, April 23, 2018, Green was named Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
Graeme Green (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) went a perfect 6-0 in three matches over the last week of action. After being elevated into the number one position in the Capital singles lineup and earning a victory Green went on to win all three contests at that spot last week. Only once did he surrender more than three games in a set and he won all three in straight sets.
On the doubles circuit, Green pulled out three wins with two different partners at the second position. He has now won four straight doubles matches and is 6-3 overall. His performance helped Capital defeat Marietta, 9-0, and was influential in Capital's matches against Baldwin Wallace University and Otterbein University which both ended in a loss.
Heading into the team's Monday meeting with Heidelberg University, Green is 9-0 in singles play since joining the team at the beginning of the spring semester. This is his first career conference weekly award.
