COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University Men's Tennis won its fourth match in its last five attempts with a big 9-0 win on the road against Marietta College on Wednesday night.

The new doubles lineup continued its successful ways with senior Dale Booher (Hartville, Ohio/Lake) and Santino DiMichaelangelo (Westerville, Ohio/St. Francis Desales) teaming up for an 8-3 win over Shane Spencer and Jack Hirschfield. The team of C.J. Martin and John Roberts plus Hunter Walter and Ben Heiland formed up for even larger margin victories, taking away wins of 8-1 and 8-0, respectively.

Booher and Spencer met once again in the top flight singles match, where the Capital senior dispensed of him quickly (6-1, 6-1). Martin had to fight for his win, marking the only singles match that went three sets. He battled from behind after falling to Hirschfield in the first set but dominated in sets two and three with 6-1 and 10-3 victories to close out the point.

No Capital player surrendered more than one point in any set of the remaining singles bouts.

Capital welcomed back Andrew Williams to the active roster after a one year hiatus, and the senior won the number six singles match by a 6-0, 6-0 count over Alex Hogan.

With the loss, Marietta is now 3-13 overall, 1-6 in OAC play.

Capital improves to 6-14 overall, 3-3 against OAC competition. They will play host to Baldwin Wallace University this Saturday, April 22, at 1 p.m. from the CU Tennis Courts in the team's next action.
