Men’s Tennis Drops Nonconference Match at Ohio Wesleyan

DELAWARE, Ohio – Capital University Men's Tennis fell to 2-11 overall following its shutout loss to Ohio Wesleyan University on Monday afternoon. The Crusaders lost to the Battling Bishops, 9-0, at the Luttinger Family Tennis Center.

Ohio Wesleyan (xxx) took two of the three doubles flights easily, but the duo of Dale Booher and C.J. Martin test OWU's top team. Ultimately, Booher and Martin fell in a close 8-6 decision to the pair of Souta Fukamachi and Jacob Volbers.

The Crusasders' struggles continued into singles play with 6-0, 6-1 losses delivered to Booher, Hunter Walter, and Ben Heiland at the number one, five and six spots.

Sophomore John Roberts came back from a 6-1 defeat in the first set by taking the second, 6-4. His match with Jakraraj Rungaseng went deep into a third-set tiebreak, but OWU took the point. Rungaseng topped Roberts, 10-7, to take the fourth singles bout.

Capital will return home to host Earlham College (Ind.) at the CU Tennis Courts on Saturday, April 1. First service is set for 1 p.m.
