CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Capital University men's tennis team was swept in a road match against the nationally-ranked Case Western Reserve University Spartans at the Carlton Courts on Saturday.
The Spartans showed the Crusaders why they are currently ranked No. 6 by the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association), winning nearly every match by large deficits. Capital's C.J. Martin was the lone Crusaders to win a set, taking the first of three against Freddy Daum in the fourth flight of singles play. He later fell 4-6 and 4-10 in a tiebreaker to end the match in CWRU's favor.
Capital is now 7-10 overall and will reenter conference play against Marietta College on Tuesday, April 19 on the road. They will begin doubles play at 3:30 p.m.
