Men's Tennis Competes in USTA-ITA at Kalamazoo

 

Kalamazoo, Michigan – The Capital University men's tennis team competed in the USTA-ITA Division III Central Region Championships which began Sept. 27, lasting through Sept. 30.

Freshman Beau Streety advanced to the Round of 16, winning against Otterbein's Zachary McDivit in the Round of 64, followed by a victory over Tom Griffin of Calvin (6-4, 6-0), before falling to Kevin Dong of Case Western (6-4, 6-2).

Also competing in singles for the Crusaders was freshman Dale Booher, who fell to Allegheny's Thomas Manning in the Round of 64.

Sophomore's Luke Buchanan and Spencer Walter also participated in the Main Draw of the Central Region Championships, both falling in the Round of 128 against Augustana and Case Western, respectively.

On the doubles side, Buchanan and Walter paired for a match against Kalamazoo, falling in the Round of 64 to the Hornets' Bo Hudson and Mike Korn.

Booher and Streety also participated in doubles competition for the Crusaders, falling to Washington's Kevin Chu and Tim Noack in the Round of 64.

Next up for the Crusader men are a pair of matches on Oct. 6 against Bellarmine (Ky.) at 12 p.m. and the host Hanover (Ind.) at 3 p.m.
