The Capital University men's tennis team was downed 9-0 against Ohio Northern in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual contest at Ada, Ohio.
In their first conference loss of the season, the Crusaders (11-4 overall, 6-1 OAC) closely competed in doubles before dropping all six singles matches. The Polar Bears (14-4, 8-0) maintained their first-place standing in the league.
Despite the loss, Capital remains in second place, one half game ahead of Baldwin Wallace, which comes to Columbus Friday for a dual match against the Crusaders. The winner of Friday's match-up could still win a share of the OAC regular season title if Ohio Northern falls against Muskingum on Saturday.
After hosting Baldwin Wallace on Friday at 3:30 p.m., the Crusaders visit cross-town rival Otterbein on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest in Westerville.
