COLUMBUS – The Capital University men's tennis team surrendered just three games Friday in a 9-0 victory over Muskingum in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual match at the Capital University Tennis Courts.

The Crusaders (5-2 overall, 1-0 OAC) dropped just one game each in three different sets in taking all six singles matches and all three doubles contests against the Muskies (0-2, 0-1).

Freshmen Luke Buchanan (Westerville, Ohio) and Spencer Walter (Hilliard, Ohio) combined for an 8-0 triumph at No. 1 doubles, while senior John Murray (Bolingbrook, Ill.) and sophomore Kenny Duncan (Poland, Ohio) duplicated that performance at the No. 2 spot. The third pair of freshmen Gian Carlo DiMichelangelo (Westerville, Ohio) and Jared Judson (Dublin, Ohio) bested the Muskingum pair of Gene Montgomery and Matt Allen 8-1 to complete Capital's doubles sweep.

Buchanan (No. 1), Duncan (No. 3), Walter (No. 4) and DiMichelangelo (No. 5) each won at their respective singles positions by identical 6-0, 6-0 marks. Murray won 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 2 slot, while Judson took home a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 6. DiMichelangelo (at right) and Walter are currently tied for the team lead in singles wins with six apiece.

The Crusaders resume their five-match home stand tomorrow against Heidelberg. The OAC dual match is scheduled for 1 p.m.
