Crusaders Shut Out Marietta, 2-0

MARIETTA, Ohio – Capital Men's Soccer defeated Marietta College, 2-0 Wednesday evening at Marietta Field. With the win, the Crusaders improve to 5-4-3 overall, 2-2-0 in the OAC, while the Pioneers fall to 6-7-0, 1-3-0 in conference play.

WOO WITH THE GAME-WINNER 
In the 18th minute, senior Brandon Woo (Hilliard, Ohio) took a direct kick that made its way through traffic and sailed past Marietta's goalkeeper. The ball landed inside the far left post for Capital's game-winning goal. This marks Woo's fourth goal of the season. 

NIEMEIER SECURES ANOTHER GOAL 
Ten minutes following Woo's goal, Woo sent the ball to junior Shane Niemeier (Bellbrook, Ohio) from midfield. Niemeier got a foot on the ball and sent it into the lower left corner of the net, putting the Crusaders ahead 2-0. This was Niemeier's first goal of the season and second of his career.  

SHUTOUT FOR MORAIS 
Junior Kyle Morais (Westerville, Ohio) is credited with the shutout for this match, his third of the season. Morais had five saves in the first half and four in second, helping the Crusaders secure the win. 

UP NEXT
The Crusaders will take on the University of Mount Union Saturday, October 19. The match will take place at Bernlohr Stadium and kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
