Crusaders Head Home Feeling Confident After Two Wins on the Road

Slippery Rock, Pa.– The Capital men's soccer team defeated Grove City College, 4-2 on Saturday, securing its second road win of the season. 

Grove City took the lead early in the first putting the Wolverines ahead 1-0. Senior defender Brandon Woo then scored for the Crusaders to even up the score. Following the momentum of Woo's goal, junior midfielder Matt Scheper quickly found the back of the net to put the Crusaders ahead 2-1 in the 23rdminute. 

Halfway through the second, Grove City evened up the score at 2-2. Senior forward Trevor Collins scored the game winner for the Purple and White off a penalty kick late in the second. A minute later, Brandon Woo scored his second goal of night to put the Crusaders ahead by two

The team ended the game with 21 shots, ten of which were on frame. Capital now sits at 2-0-0 heading into its third game of the 2019-20 season. The team is back at Bernlohr Stadium for the next four consecutive games, starting with a matchup versus Case Western Reserve University on Sept.6.
