GENEVA, Pa. – Capital University Men's Soccer kicked off its 2019-20 season off with a bang. The Crusaders sit at 1-0-0, after securing a win on the road against Geneva College. The Purple and White defeated the Golden Tornados, 1-0 in overtime.
The Crusaders came out strong in the first half, with seven shots. In the second, the Crusaders held their ground, keeping the match scoreless. The team only allowed one shot on goal for Geneva, which junior goalkeeper Kyle Morias saved, resulting in a shutout in his first match of the season. The Crusaders had four shots on goal, one finding the back of the net. Senior forward Tristan Bentley scored off an assist from senior defender, Greg Knox, to send the Crusaders home with a win.
Capital will play its first of four consecutive games at home, on Sept. 6 against Case Western Reserve University.
