Three Members of Capital Men’s Soccer Named All-Great Lakes Region by United Soccer Coaches

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches announced the organization's NCAA Division III All-Region teams on Tuesday with three member of Capital University Men's Soccer receiving All-Great Lakes Region selections. Senior forward Chewy Gordon was named First Team All-Great Lakes Region while Daniel Bundschuh and Greg Knox were named to the second team.

Gordon, the reigning Ohio Athletic Conference Forward of the Year produced a record-setting 2018 season in which he scored 24 goals and recorded 49 points. The Westerville, Ohio native scored four hat tricks in 18 games and had eight multi-goal games. Nine of Gordon's goals were game-winners, the most in a single season in program history and second-most in the country. Gordon finished tied for third in the country in goals and led the OAC by eight.

On the all-region second team, defender Greg Knox enjoyed his own historic season as he rewrote the program's assists charts. Knox set the Capital single-season assist record of 16, beating the previous mark of 11 and on Oct. 27, he became the program leader in assists as a junior. The Oxford, Mich. native had two three-assist games to set the single-game record and in Capital's NCAA Tournament game on Nov. 10, he scored his first career goal in Capital's win.

As a senior patrolling the midfield, Daniel Bundschuh finished second on the team with 20 points in20 games, eight goals and four assists. Both of those marks were career highs for the Cincinnati native.

All three players were named First Team All-OAC and Gordon was named to the OAC All-Tournament Team as Capital won the OAC regular season title. The Crusaders became the third Capital Men's Soccer team to earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament and for the second year in a row Capital won its first-round game.
