Capital Men’s Soccer Receives At-Large Bid to NCAA Tournament

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University Men's Soccer's incredible 2018 season is not over yet as the Crusaders have received an at-large bid to the 2018 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament for the second year in a row. This is the third NCAA Tournament appearance in program history and last year the Crusaders won the program's first national tournament game.

The Purple and White will be travelling to Case Western Reserve University on Saturday, Nov. 10 for a first-round matchup with Westminster College at 1:30 p.m. The Titans posted an overall record of 14-5 and won the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship.

The Crusaders compiled a 14-4 overall record and earned the No. 1 seed in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament after going 8-1 against their conference opponents. Boasting one of the most impressive offenses in the entire country, Capital led the OAC with 59 goals while only allowing 21. The Crusaders are led by senior Chewy Gordon and his 24 goals, tied for the second-most in the country. Defender Greg Knox is also tied for second in the nation with 16 assists this year as part of a record-setting campaign.

Last year, Capital won a thrilling 2-1 overtime game over Dominican University (Ill.) for the program's first-ever tournament win. More information including links to follow Saturday's game against Westminster online will be made public as soon as they are available.
