AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Ohio Athletic Conference announced its latest round of weekly awards on Monday and for the second time this season, Logan Wiedman has been named the Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

The senior started both of Capital's matches this past week and played a key role in two Capital victories. Against Heidelberg University on Oct. 3, Wiedman allowed one goal while making four saves in a 2-1 win. The goal for the Student Princes came in the ninth minute of that contest but since then, Wiedman has gone 83 minutes without giving up a score.

In a battle of two preseason favorites on Oct. 6, Capital welcomed John Carroll University to Bernlohr Stadium and the Crusaders needed every one of Wiedman's 104 minutes of scoreless goalkeeping to beat the Blue Streaks 1-0 in double overtime. John Carroll took 18 total shots on Saturday and the Cincinnati native saved all four of their attempts on goal.

After the pair of wins, Wiedman is 8-2 this season and has four shutouts. The Crusaders are now 9-2 this year and are the OAC's only undefeated team at 3-0. Weidman is third in the conference with a 0.89 goals against average and has the second-most shutouts in the OAC. He is tied for the OAC lead in wins.

Weidman and the Crusaders will look to add to their list of conference on Wednesday, Oct. 10 when they host Marietta College. Kickoff at Bernlohr Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m.
