LEXINGTON, Va. - After winning three games in a row over the past two weeks, Capital University Men's Soccer (4-2) wasn't able to extend that streak in a 4-0 loss to No. 9 Washington & Lee University (5-0-1) on Saturday.

The game remained scoreless for the first 10 minutes of action but the Generals got on the scoreboard first in the 14th minute thanks to a goal from Dylan Ritch. Neither team was able to add another goal in the first half but the Generals exploded in the second.

Capital was able to handle Washington & Lee's offense for the first 25 minutes of the second but in the 71st minute, Kevin Molnar doubled the Generals' lead with the help of Kevin Lencioni off a corner. Ten minutes after that, the Generals found the back of the net for the third time with a goal from Ted Hurst. Danny Tran sealed the win for Washington & Lee in the 87th minute after he collected the ball in the center of the box and sent it home.

Capital was outshot 25-7 in the game and the Generals had nine corners compared to Capital's one. Junior forward Luke Morais (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville South) led Cap with three shots, two of which were on goal. Tyler Stills (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville Central) and Calvin Saunders (Winston-Salem, N.C./West Forsyth) were the only other Capital players to record a shot on goal. Capital was held to two shots in the first half.

Although he allowed four goals, Capital goalkeeper Justin Niswonger (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) made seven saves.

The Crusaders return to Purmort Field at Bernlohr Stadium, where they are undefeated this season, on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. to take on the College of Wooster.
