COLUMBUS, Ohio – After an undefeated week that included a win over the third-ranked team in the country, Capital University Men's Soccer is ranked seventh in the Great Lakes Region in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Regional Poll. This is the first week of regional polls.
Capital (3-1) started their season with a 1-0 win over Salisbury before losing to St. Mary's (Md.) in the second game. In the third game of the season, the Crusaders made a statement by beating then-No. 3 St. Thomas (Minn.), 2-0, at Purmort Field at Bernlohr Stadium. Cap followed that win with a 3-1 victory over Millikin University.
The team will have a chance to get another statement win when they travel to play another nationally-ranked opponent, No. 9 Washington and Lee University, on Saturday, Sept. 16. Washington and Lee began the season ranked 24th but moved into the top-10 after starting the year 3-0-1. Before that game, though, the Crusaders will host Denison University on Wednesday. That game is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.
