Basiakos and Pullium Earn Player of the Year Laurels, Seven Earn All-OAC Honors

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Capital University men's soccer team produced seven All-OAC honorees. Alexander Basiakos earned the OAC Defensive Player of the Year Award as well as First Team All-OAC.

Senior defender Alexander Basiakos (Hilliard, Ohio/ Hilliard Bradley) earned his first OAC Defensive Player of the Year. On the season he finished with five goals. Basiakos was a key player on the backline for the Capital defense. He helped produce 11 shutouts on the season. Basiakos scored two goals in the 2-2 draw against then No. 4 ranked Ohio Northern University. Basiakos also earned his first, First Team All-OAC honor.

Senior midfielder Jacob Pulliam (Westerville, Ohio/ Westerville North) earned his fourth consecutive All-OAC honor. Pulliam earned OAC Midfielder of the Year, the first of his career, as well as First Team All-OAC. Pulliam also produced three goals and six assists on the season, good for 12 points.

Senior forward Cheyn Roux (Davidson, N.C.) earned Second Team All-OAC honors. This season Roux scored 10 goals, which led the team and tied for third in the OAC. Additionally, he added two assists.

Senior defender Hunter Booth (Liberty Township, Ohio) was tabbed Second Team All-OAC, his first All-OAC honor. During the season Booth scored two goals and added two assists.

Junior goalkeeper Justin Niswonger (Centerville, Ohio) nabbed Second Team All-OAC honors. For the season Niswonger produced 10 shutouts, while having a .743 save percentage and 1.05 goals-against average.

Sophomore midfielder Daniel Bundschuh (Cincinnati, Ohio) was named All-OAC honorable mention. Bundschuh scored three goals and added one assist to earn the nod.

Freshman forward Trevor Collins (Powell, Ohio/ Olentangy Liberty) also earned All-OAC honorable mention. Collins scored four goals and tallied five assists in 20 matches.
