AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Ohio Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners and Capital Men's Lacrosse made the list. Capital University senior TJ Johnson was named OAC Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Crusaders collect two wins, last week.

In two outings, TJ Johnson (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) not only helped Capital collect its first two wins of the season but earned his first collegiate win as a starter. In his first victory, Johnson made 11 saves on 20 shots faced as part of a 14-9 road victory at DePauw University.

He followed that performance up with nine wins in a second road win, this time in decisive fashion. The Crusaders defeated Alma College, 21-10, backed by Johnson's nine saves and three ground balls in the game. In the lopsided win, Johnson recorded 54:33 of time between the pipes before giving way to backup Josh Snyder. In the first half of that game, the Scots scored just three times to set the tone for the route.

This mark's Johnson's first OAC weekly accolade. He now has an 8.76 goals-against average and a .574 save percentage this season, leading to a 2-1 overall record.

Johnson and the Crusaders will suit up for its next game on Saturday, March 9, against Grove City College (Pa.). Game time is set for 4 p.m. at Bernlohr Stadium.

Note: Wednesday's contest versus The College of Wooster has been postponed to March 20, 7 p.m. at Bernlohr Stadium, due to weather conditions.
