COLUMBUS, Ohio – Recent Capital University graduate Brennan O'Callaghan added yet another accolade to his expansive list of career awards. On Tuesday, June 12, 2018 O'Callaghan was named Second Team All-West Region by the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA).
In the third year of the IMLCA's existence, the organization once again recognized Capital attackmen Brennan O'Callaghan (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) as an all-region selection. Following a successful senior season, the IMLCA has tabbed him Second Team All-West Region after leading the Ohio Athletic Conference in goals (66) and points (88) and helping take the Crusaders to the OAC Tournament for the fourth straight year.
He hit milestone marks on the road after scoring his 200th career goal at John Carroll University (March 24) and then eclipsed 300 points at Heidelberg University (April 21) nearly one month later. O'Callaghan was twice named OAC Offensive Player of the Week and was a two-time USILA Team of the Week honoree.
O'Callaghan capped off his collegiate playing career as a two-time OAC Player of the Year and four-time First Team All-OAC honoree. He now adds a second all-region accolade to his resume after being tabbed to honorable mention laurels in each of the last two seasons.
This year, O'Callaghan was one of only three OAC players to be named first or second team all-region in the West.
