Tyler Faig Tabbed as OAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – After a dominating performance in the faceoff circle this past week, Capital Men's Lacrosse's Tyler Faig earned the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week Award, the conference announced.

Against the Scots on Saturday, Faig (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) won 19 of the 23 faceoff attempts he took, an 82.6 percent clip. He also won a season-high nine ground balls in the 13-6 win.

Against Wittenberg University on March 14, the sophomore midfielder won nine faceoffs and picked up four ground balls.

Faig leads the Crusaders with 47 faceoff wins and 15 ground balls this season after pacing Cap with 79 ground balls last season. Faig and the rest of the Capital squad will head to John Carroll University to open OAC play on Saturday, March 24 at 1 p.m.
