Men’s Lacrosse Announces 2017 Schedule

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University men's lacrosse team has announced the 2017 schedule. The Crusaders are led by first year coach Dom Marzano and return 47 letter winners from last season.

Cap starts the season off with two home games. The first matchup is against Olivet College on Feb. 19, a team that Capital beat 12-5 last season. A week later on Feb. 25, Oberlin College comes to Purmort Field at Bernlohr Stadium.

The first road game for Cap will be in Huntingdon, Pa. as the Crusaders take on the Hawks of Huntingdon College, on March 1.

On Wednesday, March 8, Capital returns home for a matchup against The College of Wooster, before taking to the road for a game against the Tigers of Wittenberg University, on March 15.

Capital opens OAC play with a rematch from last year's OAC semifinal game, as John Carroll University, last year's regular season and conference tournament champions, makes the trip to Columbus on March 25.

On April 1, Capital hosts rival Otterbein University. Cap looks to avenge a loss from last season.

The Crusaders then hop on a bus for the next two, as they travel to Cincinnati and then Berea, Ohio, to battle with the Lions of Mount St. Joseph University on April 5, and the Yellow Jackets of Baldwin Wallace on April 8.

Capital returns to Purmort Field at Bernlohr Stadium as it hosts the Fighting Muskies of Muskingum University on April 12. Last season Cap defeated Muskingum 18-5.

The Crusaders take to the road on April 14 for a conference battle against the University of Mount Union. Cap won last season's matchup, 11-3.

Capital will play its last home game of the season against Heidelberg University on April 22.

The Crusaders will play the final two games on the road. They take on Wilmington College on April 26, and close out the season against Ohio Northern University on April 29.

Capital had three members make the Inaugural Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association all-region team. Danny Davide and Tate Stover were named to the second team, while Brennan O'Callaghan was named honorable mention.
