COLUMBUS, Ohio – The fall portion of the Capital University men's golf schedule is set. Head Coach Andy Garcia will take the Crusaders to a host of competitive tournaments and host one event to prime the team for the year-long quest for an Ohio Athletic Conference title.
The fall season begins when the team kicks off play at the Gatorade Intercollegiate Invitational, hosted by The College of Wooster on Saturday, August 31. The two-day event will carry over to Sunday, Sept. 1.
Cap's second tournament will feature a new course not yet explored when the Crusaders head to Plumbrook Country Club in Sandusky, Ohio the following weekend. Cap will compete in the Cameo Pizza Battle at the Brook, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University, on Sept. 7-8.
The Crusaders will then co-host a two-day event with Otterbein University between two courses on Sept. 14-15. On Saturday, Otterbein will serve as host for round one at NorthStar Golf Course in Sunbury, Ohio. The second round will be hosted by Cap at Royal American Links in Galena.
The weekend will turn feature a third round at a different event on Monday, Sept. 16. John Carroll University will host a one-day event, the JCU Papa Flowers Invitational to close out the Crusaders' September schedule.
October will feature two tournaments, the OAC Preview at River Greens Golf Course (10/5-6) and the Virtues Fall Shootout at Virtues Golf Club (10/19-20), which will bring CU to the conclusion to its fall slate.
