Men’s Golf Places Eighth at OAC Spring Invitational

HUDSON, Ohio – The Capital University men's golf team competed at the Ohio Athletic Conference Spring Invitational for a chance at the regular season title. Capital finished eighth out of nine teams at the Country Club of Hudson on Saturday.

The tournament was shortened to 18 holes due to weather canceling the first half of the event on Friday. Capital shot 324 as a team while event winner John Carroll University finished atop the leaderboard behind a 309 team score.

Senior Noah Iovino took a share of 10th place and led Capital with a 78 (+6) through 18 holes. He and teammate Logan Holbrook were separated by just one stroke, with Holbrook claiming a share of 14th place with his 79 (+7).

Ryan Czerniakowski (82, +10) and Ryan Wright (85, +13) rounded out the Capital scorers.

Luke McCullough (80, +8) placed ahead of Czerniakowski and Wright, but competed as an individual along with Nick Brunsman (84, +12).

The Crusaders will now prepare for the biggest tournament of the year, the OAC Championships. The three-day, 54-hole event will be held at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio between Friday, May 3 and Sunday, May 5.
