ADA, Ohio – The Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Championship was altered due to weather in the Ada area, thus shortening the tournament to one day. Capital University Men's Golf went out to the Colonial Golfers Club in Harrod, Ohio and finished eighth out of nine teams in the 18-hole fall championship tournament. Senior Logan Holbrook led the Purple and White having finished with another top-10 score.
One week removed from breaking multiple Capital records, senior Logan Holbrook (Logan, Ohio/Logan) shot a 77 on Saturday to lead the Crusader lineup. He finished tied for ninth place overall on the individual leaderboard.
Senior Noah Iovino (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Jerome) and junior Ryan Czerniakowski (Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Northview) shot matching 80s to shore up the middle of the Capital roster, while sophomore Ryan Wright accounted for the last of the scorers with an 82.
Junior Chris Dearth was just one of the pace of Wright to round out the full lineup.
Capital closed out their stay at the OAC Fall Championship with a 319, good for eighth out of nine competing teams. They were two shots off Baldwin Wallace University (317) and five off the heels of host Ohio Northern University (314).
John Carroll University (303) earned the upset after beating out conference favorite Otterbein University (305). The Blue Streaks also hosted the top medalist, Nolan Laughlin (71), and three top-10 placers.
Capital will finish its fall season at the Virtues Fall Shootout at the Virtues Golf Club in Newark, Ohio. Day one of the two-day tournament will be on Sunday, October 21.
