Cap Men’s Golf Finishes Seventh at Irish Hills Invitational

JACKSON, Mich. – Capital Men's Golf was in action over the weekend at Grande Golf Club in Jackson, Mich. where they placed seventh overall as a team.

Senior co-captain Noah Iovino (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Jerome) left day one in a share of 10th place after posting a 74 on his scorecard to lead the Crusaders. He remained consistent and fell just one stroke back on day two and landed a share of 11th place overall on the individual leaderboard.

Joining him with a matching 149 weekend total was senior co-captain Logan Holbrook (Logan, Ohio/Logan). Holbrook made a five-stroke improvement between rounds one and two after turning in a 77 prior to end of Friday's action. He then came back on Saturday and scored a team-low 72.

Rounding out the Capital scorecard was sophomore Ryan Czerniakowski (80-76-156) and Chris Dearth (83-78-161), who finished 29th and 41st, respectively.

Ryan Wright also competed and shot rounds of 87 and 83 to score a total of 170.

Lawrence Tech (583) took the team title by edging out Wayne State University (584) by one stroke.

Wayne State's Anthony Bolden served as top medalist shooting 69-72-141.

Capital will jump right back into action next weekend at the Beaver Fall Classic, hosted by Bluffton College. They will compete at Hidden Creek and Bluffton Country Club on Saturday, September 22 through Sunday, September 23.
