BLACKLICK, Ohio – Capital University Men's Golf had a long day on the links having played 36 holes at the Jefferson Country Club on Tuesday afternoon. Justin Dearth led the Crusaders on the day, while the Purple and White placed 14th out of 16 teams.
Capital did not get off to a great start and was unable to get all in the lineup in the same directions once scorecards started filing in. While Ryan Czerniakowski showed the greatest improvement between rounds, Senior Justin Dearth (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Jerome) finished atop Capital's lineup with a two-round score of 160 (82-78). He also show the single lowest round among his teammates with his second round 78. He finished in a share for 54th overall in a field of 99 competitors.
Junior Logan Holbrook (Logan, Ohio/Logan) came in one stroke behind Dearth with a line of 79-82-161, good for a share of 58th place.
The University of Findlay took home top team honors by shooting a combined 590 (292-298) on the day, edging out the University of Indianapolis by four strokes. Cap came in 14th place as a team with a line of 328-323-651.
The Purple and White will tee it up next on Sept. 17-18 at the OAC Fall Classic at Pine Hill Golf Club in Medina, Ohio.
