Capital Sits in Sixth Place After Day One of OAC Tournament

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio – The Capital University men's golf team took to the links in the opening round of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament at the River Greens Golf Course. Mitchell Cook shot a round of 74 to lead Cap.

Senior Mitchell Cook (Bucyrus, Ohio / Colonel Crawford) posted the low-round score for Capital. Cook shot a 74, which is two over for the round.

Sophomore Noah Iovino (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Jerome) finished in the second position on Cap's lineup, with a 77.

With a round of 79, sophomore Logan Holbrook (Logan, Ohio / Logan) currently sits third for the Crusaders.

Senior Jeff Czerniakowski (Sylvania, Ohio / Sylvania Northview) finished the day with a total of 81 strokes.

Rounding out the scores for Capital is freshman Jake Barstow (Logan, Ohio / Logan) with a score of 84.

As a team, Cap shot a combined total of 311.

Otterbein University sits in first place after it shot a team total of 286, followed by Ohio Northern University with 296 and the University of Mount Union with 298.

The Cardinals' Kris Clarke and Kurt Fortman are tied for first place with a score of 70.

The Crusaders return to the course tomorrow in the second round of the OAC tournament.
