Men’s Golf Wraps Up Day One at Purple and White Invitational

NEW ALBANY, Ohio – On a day with heavy rain in the forecast, the Capital University men's golf team was able to complete the first round of the Purple and White Invitational on Thursday. The Crusaders competed at the 72-par, 7004 yard New Albany Links.

The Crusaders finished in a tie for fifth place after 18 holes, finishing with a 334 scorecard.  Otterbein University and Mount Union University holds the top spot with a 318. Followed by Ohio Northern, who scored 321.

Pacing the Crusaders, was senior Parker McComb (Gahanna, Ohio), who shot a seven-over par, 79. His finish was good for a tie for sixth place overall. Rounding out the top three for Capital was junior Daniel Shafer (Hilliard, Ohio)with an 83 and sophomore Jeff Czerniakowski (Sylvania, Ohio) with an 84.

Capital will wrap up the Purple and White Invitational on Friday, March 3 at the Royal American Golf Club in Galena, Ohio.
