AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Following a monster weekend at an out-of-state tournament that led to a pair of wins for Capital Men's Hoops, the Ohio Athletic Conference named Ganiyu Yahaya as its Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, November 25.

Over the last week, Ganiyu Yahaya (Abuja, Nigeria/Wesleyan Christian) put up the best numbers among his compatriots in the OAC and earned his first career weekly performance award. He has scored 10 or more points in each of the last three games and two games in which he put up 20 or more points. He has not been held to single-digit point totals yet this season, exhibition or regular season.

Last weekend at the Geneva Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, the senior logged 29 points against host Geneva College and 23 points against Grove City College. Yahaya totaled seven rebounds, two assists and three steals en route to being named to the All-Tournament Team and Tournament MVP.  He shot 50 percent from the field (18-36) and from 3-point range (8-16) in those two contests, both resulting in wins for the Crusaders.

Yahaya and the Crusaders are now 4-2 overall heading into Tuesday's home contest versus Ohio Wesleyan University. Capital and OWU will tip off at 7 p.m. from The Capital Center.
