COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two nationally-ranked men's basketball teams will enter The Capital Center tied for first place in the Ohio Athletic Conference on Thursday night. One will exit with a win and the best view of the conference standings from the top step, all alone. Capital students, fans, staff, faculty, and supporters are encouraged to come cheer for the No. 19 Capital Crusaders as they host the No. 8 Marietta College Pioneers on Thursday, January 31. Students in attendance will be entered in a raffle for a chance to win one of two $100 gift certificates for The Rusty Bucket.
Capital Men's Basketball (16-3, 11-1 OAC) wants The Capital Center packed for its battle against the Marietta Pioneers (17-2, 11-1 OAC) and asks you to help us fill the place with cheering bodies and lots of noise. Tipoff for the game is 7 p.m. on Thursday night.
Note: The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday, January 30 but has been postponed to January 31 due to cold temperatures coming through the Midwest.
All Capital and Marietta students, staff and faculty are admitted for free with a valid student or university ID. General admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children (ages 11-18) and seniors (65+), and free for children 10 and under. All tickets must be purchased at the door, cash only.

Capital students in attendance will automatically be entered in a raffle for a chance to win one of two gift certificates from The Rusty Bucket in the amount of $100. The raffle winners will be drawn at halftime. Winners must be present.

The Crusaders find themselves not just in the national rankings as a team, but also in individual and team statistical categories. The Crusaders are a top-25 shooting team with the country's 18th-best field goal shooting percentage (.494). Cap also has two of the OAC's top scorers in seniors Austin Schreck (17.0) and Joey Weingartner (16.5), who rank fourth and fifth, respectively. Senior Caleb Cox ranks second in the OAC in both rebounds per game (10.3) and field goal percentage (.610).
Marietta (86.8) and Capital (82.8) and numbers one and two in the OAC for team scoring, respectively, coming into Wednesday's contest. Capital boasts the conference's best defense, allowing just 68.0 points per game, while Marietta is ranked fourth at 72.0 points per game.
The Pioneers are led in scoring by Kyle Dixon (11.7) and Anthony Wallace (11.6), while Dixon (5.5) and Caleb Hoyng (5.8) pace them in rebounds.
The last time these two teams met, Capital finished the sprint to the finish line and beat the Pioneers in Ban Johnson Arena, 82-78. Cox went a perfect 10-for-10 from the field and went on to score 25 points and had four of its five starters score 10 or more points.
