The first chance Crusader fans will have to see this year's team will come on Tuesday, October 30 with a home scrimmage against Division II Ohio Dominican University at 7 p.m.

Once the calendar turns over to November excitement will begin to manifest quickly for Capital Men's Basketball. The second time Capital hit the hardwood will be a memorable one for Head Coach Damon Goodwin. He will lead the Crusaders into an exhibition competition against his alma mater, the University of Dayton, on Friday, November 2. The Flyers host the Crusaders at UD Arena at 7 p.m. that evening where Goodwin will face off against former teammate and current Dayton head coach Anthony Grant.

The 2018-19 campaign officially kicks off with a weekend getaway to Albion College (Mich.) where the Crusaders will open up with a pair of games against the Brits and the Thunder of Trine University (Ind.). Cap and host Albion will square off on Friday, November 16 at 8 p.m. in the team's regular-season opener and follow the next day at 1 p.m. against Trine.

The annual OAC/NCAC Crossover Challenge will be in part hosted at Capital University with co-host Ohio Wesleyan University. The first leg of the tournament will be held at OWU where CU will take on North Coast Athletic Conference regular season and tournament champion, Wittenberg University, at Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday, November 20 at 6 p.m. After Thanksgiving has been celebrated, Capital will host two games on the final day of the tournament, which will also serve as the team's first home contest. Following the 4 p.m. matchup between Wittenberg and Otterbein University on Sunday, November 25, the Crusaders will take the court against NCAC Tournament runner-up, Ohio Wesleyan.

Following another non-conference home contest, Ohio Athletic Conference play will open up in a big way with the first round of Cap's rivalry match against Otterbein. That game will open the month of December on Saturday the first at 1 p.m. Cap will play three straight conference games before hitting the nonconference trail again and for the fourth consecutive year play Denison University, this time at The Capital Center Performance Arena.

January will prove to be a challenging month for the team with high levels of competition, especially on the Crusaders' home court. Capital will host Mount Union (Jan. 5), OAC champion John Carroll (Jan. 12), Muskingum (Jan. 23), and Marietta (Jan. 30). The team will play NCAA Tournament participant Marietta twice in the month, the first time in Ban Johnson Arena.

February will be a light month with just two home games against Heidelberg (Feb. 6) and Baldwin Wallace (Feb. 9) and will finish the regular season on the road against Wilmington (Feb. 13) and Mount Union (Feb. 16).

Coming off of a 12-14 (8-10 OAC) season in 2017-18 the Crusaders look to jump back into the postseason mix and win its first OAC Tournament game since winning the tournament championship in 2012. They will return five seniors including all-conference selections Austin Schreck and Joey Weingartner, swingmen Gavin Wildermuth and Will Hannah, and big man Caleb Cox.
