AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) announced it's list of postseason accolades on Thursday morning, which included the names of two Capital University Men's Basketball student-athletes. Juniors Austin Schreck and Joey Weingartner earned spots on this year's all-conference team.

Schreck, a native of Erlanger, Ky. (Dixie Heights), was named All-OAC Second Team after a career year in which he set new highs in points scored (398), field goals made (146), 3-pointers made (30), free throws made (76), blocks (10), and steals (29). He averaged a team-high 15.3 points per contest and chipped in 5.2 rebounds per game, as well. He set a new career high with 28 points against Marietta College in a narrow loss, marking the sixth out of nine times he finished with 20 or more points. He finished the season on a run of seven straight games with 10 or more points scored.

He will enter the 2018-19 season with 893 points, just 107 away from becoming the 32nd player in Crusaders history to hit the millennium mark. He is now a two-time all-conference selection after his honorable mention year in 2016-17.

New to the all-conference squad is Joey Weingartner (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) who became an honorable mention selection following a season in which he too set new standards in multiple categories. He scored 365 points (14.0), shooting percentages from both the field (.452) and 3-point range (.404), and steals (25). He scored 20 or more points six times this season, including a season-high 28 against rival Otterbein University on Dec. 9.

Weingartner will also be within range of becoming a 1,000-point scorer next year as a senior. He currently possesses 745 career points, just 255 off the mark. He has scored 300 in each of the last two seasons.
