COLUMBUS, Ohio – Opponents have yet to find a way to stop the explosiveness of senior guard Mark Minch. Monday, the Ohio Athletic Conference announced that it has selected Minch as its Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Last Wednesday, Minch led the Crusaders to an 87-62 victory over Muskingum University. Capital built on a big halftime lead, starting the second half with a 12-2 run. A run that saw Minch score seven of his game-leading 24 points. Minch was reliable throughout the night, making 10-of-14 (.714) from the field and 4-of-6 (.667) from the charity stripe.
Capital dropped its second game of the week, falling 91-87 to Ohio Northern. Minch was still productive in defeat, finishing with 20 points or more for the 12th time this season with 26. He was instrumental, contributing 12 points in a 19-5 run that got Capital back into the mix, late in the contest. The Cincinnati, Ohio native nearly had a double-double with nine rebounds while adding three assists.
The Crusaders currently find themselves in a fourth-place tie in the OAC standings with Baldwin Wallace University. Capital's next game is at home against Wilmington College on Wednesday.
