Todd West enters his third year on staff with Capital University Football as the team’s secondary coach and director of operations.
With the aid of Coach West, defensive back LaShaun Sanders Jr. was named All-OAC Honorable Mention as a junior in 2017 after leading the CU defensive backfield after sharing fifth place in the OAC in passes defended (9) in addition to his 46 tackles and one interception.
West began his coaching career at the high school level, serving as the defensive coordinator for schools in the areas of Lewisburg and Shikelammy in Pennsylvania. During his time as defensive coordinator, West was responsible for the implementation of defensive game plans and weekly preparation.
In 2014, West became the running back coach for Bucknell University (NCAA Division I FCS). His game day duties included providing the offensive coordinator with personnel groupings and to chart plays. In addition to his coaching duties at Bucknell, he assisted in scouting and the recruitment of student-athletes. He also coached CoSIDA Academic All-American running back Matt DelMauro as well as Second Team All-Patriot League running back, C.J. Williams.
West played his collegiate football at FCS school Lehigh University from 1991-94, where he was a four-year letter winner. He was a key member of Lehigh’s first Patriot League championship team that took the title in 1993.
West holds a bachelor’s degree in international business and careers from Lehigh (1995) and was a two-time Dean’s List member.
