AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Ohio Athletic Conference announced its weekly performance awards on Monday afternoon and Capital University sophomore Blake Middleton was tabbed as the conference special teams player of the week following his performance last weekend.

Middleton comes off a weekend in which he put up a career-high eight points against Marietta College in the OAC football opener. Middleton kicked a new career-long 35-yard field goal in the loss to the Pioneers on Saturday. He also converted 5-of-6 point-after-touchdown tries, including five straight over the course of the game.

Middleton has now hit 8-of-9 PATs on the season and has tallied 11 points through two games. This marks the sophomore's first weekly performance accolade of his career.
