  • Forty-Four Cap Student-Athletes Named Spring Academic All-OAC

    The Ohio Athletic Conference announced its Spring 2017 Academic All-OAC honorees on Monday. Forty-four Capital student-athletes were awarded the honor among the 10 eligible sports teams, including 10 three-time selections.

    Logan Bastin (baseball) and Alexis Juergensen (women's lacrosse) were honored as Capital's Clyde A. Lamb Award recipients at Monday night's 33rd annual awards banquet at Holiday Inn - Worthington.

    The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced its yearly awards from the 2017 baseball season. Alexander Smith and Brendon Borkey were selected to All-OAC teams representing the Capital University baseball team.
  • Cap Splits with JCU on Senior Day

    Ten seniors took to the field for the last time donning the Purple and White, as the Capital University baseball team hosted the Blue Streaks of John Carroll University. The Crusaders took game one, 8-7, but fell in game two, 8-2. Logan Bastin posted a 5-for-10 day at the plate to lead Cap.
  • Crusaders Drops Doubleheader Against ONU

    Alexander Smith recorded four doubles as he went 4-for-8 on the day. The Capital University baseball team lost both games of the doubleheader to Ohio Northern University Sunday. Cap dropped game one, 12-5, and lost game two in seven innings due to severe weather, 5-2.
  • Capital Wins Game Two to Prevent Sweep

    The Capital University baseball team hosted Baldwin Wallace University in an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader at Clowson Field Saturday afternoon. Baldwin Wallace won game one, 9-2, but the Crusaders came out on top in game two, 6-3. Doug Connor went 3-for-7 to lead Cap.
  • Cap Drops Twin Bill to Marietta

    The Capital University baseball team hosted the Pioneers of Marietta College Wednesday afternoon down at Clowson Field. Marietta defeated Cap, 4-0, in game one and knocked off Cap, 12-9, in the second game. Beau Otto went 4-for-9 on the day to lead the Crusaders.
  • Hits and Runs Come in Bunches as Part of Cap’s 14-8 Win at Wittenberg

    Capital Baseball belted out 17 hits and 14 runs as part of its 14-8 nonconference road win over Wittenberg University on Tuesday night. Joe Caporale led the team with four hits while Tyler Cetnarowski and Daniel Walters each drove in three runs each to lead the club.
  • Capital Loses Two Games Against Mount Union

    The Capital University baseball team travelled to the No. 30 University of Mount Union Purple Raiders Friday afternoon. Cap fell in the first game, 1-0, behind a stellar performance by Brendon Borkey. Mount took game two, 7-6. Alexander Smith was 2-for-5 at the plate in game two with one RBI.

    The Capital University baseball team was in action Wednesday afternoon as it hosted the Fighting Muskies of Muskingum University. Cap lost game one, 11-6, and lost game two, 8-4. Daniel Walters posted a 5-for-9 day at the plate.

    The Capital University baseball team is partnering with Vs. Cancer Foundation this season to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer. The fundraiser will last throughout the season, but the team will celebrate their efforts on Wednesday, March 29, when they take on Wittenberg University.

    Capital Baseball came back from being down by two runs and with a five-run seventh inning, came back to defeat Rose-Hulman, 8-4. Cap is now 4-1 through its first five games for just the third time since 2006.
