Thirty-One Crusaders Named Academic All-OAC

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Capital University Athletics announces that 31 of its spring sport student-athletes have been named Academic All-OAC by the Ohio Athletic Conference office. The announcement came on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.

Award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 through the fall semester.

Of Capital's 31 academic standouts, 12 student-athletes are being honored for the first time. Nineteen Crusaders are making a return trip to the Academic All-OAC list. Of those returners, eight are being tabbed with the honor for a third time in their respective careers.  

Included in the list of three-time honorees are graduated seniors Connor Hopkins (baseball), Patrick Avellano (baseball), Carson Paull (men's lacrosse), Logan Allison (track & field), Bailey Walter (softball), Kara Hines (women's lacrosse), Hunter Mouser (track & field), and Hannah Westhoven (track & field).

The Ohio Athletic Conference recognized a total of 402 student-athletes which achieved Academic All-OAC during the spring season. A complete list of all Capital Academic All-OAC honorees is below.
