-- Relive the Moment --

Over the 17 years that Capital Women's Golf has existed, there has been no shortage of individual accomplishments. It takes a collection of strong individuals to make waves on a team level, and this spring Capital did just that.

It all came together for Cap on the weekend of April 8 when Head Coach Andy Garcia and Company played host to its own tournament. After the two-day tournament concluded, Capital had recorded its two lowest 18-hole scores and its lowest 36-hole score.

Up and down the lineup, Capital remained consistent within the lineup of Katie Lease, Janie Moller, Kaitlyn Kinley, Christy Conley, and Alyssa Greening. None of the four scoring finishers deviated more than three shots north or south of their first round score, and the Crusaders nearly replicated their performance between days one and two.

With a day one scorecard showing a 340 cumulative number and day two coming in at 341, Capital toppled the former single-round team record (349) recorded at the 2012 Cardinal-Crusader Invitational. The previous two-round record was once 709 (2012, Mount Union Spring Invitational). That mark was shattered that weekend by 28 strokes.

Lease led the way for Cap with rounds of 83 and 80. Lease now shares the mark for the second-lowest single round score following her day two score (80).

Like we said, we had A LOT of great moments and we just could not fit them all in 10 spots. So we copped out and made a long-than-normal honorable mention list. Here is our first …

Honorable Mention: Women's Basketball Clips Cards Not Once, But Twice!

Any win over Otterbein feels twice as nice, but doing so two times in thrilling fourth quarter finishes makes winning the series infinitely better! Cap and rival Otterbein met up three times over the course of the season and after being downed in Round 1 of the series, the Crusaders boasted their might in a 74-64 regular season win and then again in the first round of the OAC Tournament, 65-64 … and both wins came on the road! There is never enough satisfaction in beating your rival at their place!
