COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the third-straight year Capital Athletics held its annual CAPSPY's awards banquet, celebrating the on- and off-field accomplishments of Capital University student-athletes.

Established in 2014, the CAPSPY's was founded by the Capital Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as a way to honor the successes of student-athletics and those that support them. Award winners are determined by accomplishments accumulated from the spring of the previous academic year through the current winter athletic season.

The ceremony concluded with the flagship awards for Male and Female Senior Athlete of the Year. All-region guard Mark Minch (Cincinnati, Ohio) of the men's basketball team won Male Senior Athlete of the Year, while all-American left fielder LeAnna Cotton (Okeechobee, Fla.) was honored with Female Senior Athlete of the Year.

The We 'C' You Award was awarded to Dr. Nancy Swails of the biological and environmental sciences program as recognition to her support of Crusader athletics.

First-year head women's soccer coach, Matt Ogden earned Women's Team Coach of the Year after guiding his team to a birth, and victory in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament. Men's Lacrosse's coach, Bill Olin received Coach of the Year on the men's side for the second-straight season, following a season in which his team won the first Ohio Athletic Conference regular season crown in program history.
