Capital University Director of Athletics and Recreation Roger Ingles has announced the hire of Dustin Rudegeair, formerly of Ohio Wesleyan University, as assistant athletic director and director of intramurals. He will officially begin his duties overseeing athletic facilities and the Capital intramural programs on Wednesday, July 5, 2017.
Rudegeair has spent the last seven years at his alma mater, Ohio Wesleyan, as its facilities and summer camps director. His experience has brought many high-profile events from the high school level all the way through the professional ranks to Delaware, Ohio and to many of OWU’s athletic facilities.
During his tenure, Ohio Wesleyan hosted to NCAA Division III national championships and tournaments in men’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, men’s basketball, and track & field. They have also served as the site of the OHSAA football playoffs between 2010 and 2012, OHSAA baseball playoffs in 2012 and 2017, and just recently hosted the first state-recognized boys’ and girls’ lacrosse championships. Between 2012 and 2015, the Ohio Machine of Major League Lacrosse called Selby Stadium its home.

- Team OWU 5k (2011)
- Numerous North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) postseason tournaments and championships
In addition to popular and highly attended events, Rudegeair has been an integral part of Ohio Wesleyan’s commitment to building and maintaining high-quality facilities. In his time at OWU, multiple facilities were constructed including the Meek Aquatics and Recreation Center and the Simpson Querrey Fitness Center. A major renovation project to the Edwards Gym and Athletic Office was completed, as well as extensive upgrades to famed Selby Stadium and Roy Rike Field.
His responsibilities at OWU also extended to multiple administrative roles that involved scheduling, budget management, and maintenance of all University athletic facilities.
Rudegeair came to Ohio Wesleyan from The Ohio State University, where he served as a graduate administrative associate in the Department of Recreational Sports. He completed his master's degree in sport and exercise management from OSU in 2010.
Rudegeair is a 2008 Ohio Wesleyan graduate and a four-year letterman on the Bishop men's basketball team. He capped his career by receiving Fourth Team All-America honors from D3hoops.com and was a two-time All-NCAC selection. Rudegeair completed his bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2008.
A native of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Rudegeair and his wife, Kelli, reside in New Albany with their daughter, Reese.
