Allison Lowe joined the Capital University athletic department as the sports information assistant in August 2019 after four years at The Ohio State University (Columbus, Ohio). Lowe will be primarily responsible for men’s and women’s soccer, men’s basketball, men’s lacrosse, baseball, men’s and women’s track & field, men’s and women’s cross country, and women’s tennis.
Lowe is originally from Rochester, N.Y. and is no stranger to sports. She rowed all four years in high school, earning several state championship titles. She continued on to row her freshman year at OSU.
In Columbus, Lowe spent her junior year volunteering with Ohio State’s Athletics Communications Department and earned a student assistant position her senior year. She served as the men’s and women’s fencing primary contact and secondary contact for the wrestling team.
As the primary contact for the fencing team, Lowe facilitated all media requests, ran the team’s social media platforms, and was in charge of recording results and statistics for both home and away matches. In addition, Lowe produced content for ohiostatebuckeyes.com, which included writing previews, recaps, and features regarding the team. This past spring, Lowe had the opportunity to travel with Ohio State’s fencing team to the 2019 NCAA Collegiate Fencing Championships held in Cleveland, Ohio.
In addition to her responsibilities as a primary contact, Lowe also assisted with stating, running of scoreboards, photography and managing social media accounts for other sports teams at Ohio State when needed.
In March, Lowe was selected to work as a communications volunteer for the Men’s B1G Basketball Tournament in Chicago, Ill. While there, she helped with compiling postgame quotes from players and coaches, as well as assisting with any media request throughout the duration of the tournament.
Lowe graduated from OSU in 2019 with a Bachelors of Arts in New Media and Communication Technology from the College of Communication and minored in Design Thinking.
