Senior Emily Hilt made her mark on the Track and Field record books, standing on the top step of the podium at the Multi-Events All-Ohio Championships this weekend through her performance in the pentathalon. She broke the Capital school record, which she held coming into the day, with a 9.30-second performance in the 60-meter hurdles, besting her own school record by 0.01 seconds. Hilt claimed her second victory of the day in the high jump, sharing the top result after clearing 1.64 meters. In the shot put, she took third after setting a new personal best 9.47-meter throw and followed it with a third-place finish in the long jump. Hilt closed out her day with 2:42.68 time in the 800-meter run.
After calculating the results, Hilt emerged victorious with 3,223 points to eclipse the school record of 3,211 and be only one of two participants to top 3,000 points for the weekend.
