Men's Track & Field
Two-time national qualifier Josh Miller (Botkins, Ohio/Botkins) now owns two school records after his performance last week at the Pioneer Open. Miller first took to the ring in the shot put where the junior lofted not just his lifetime personal best but the longest throw in recorded Capital history. Throw number five was measured at 17.04 meters (55-11), smashing a record that stood since 1978 by Rick Meindl (16.85, 55-3.5).
Miller came back later in the meet to compete in the weight throw and also won that event with a record-setting throw. He won the event by nearly a full meter. His fourth throw was measured at 16.62 meters (54-6.5) which surpassed Colby Owen, who set the weight throw record in 2017 behind a throw of 16.32 meters (56-6).
